My name is Cátia, I am 45 years old, I live in Porto, Portugal, and I am a Life Celebrant. I work with couples and families through life's most meaningful transitions, bringing intention, reflection and love into their journeys.

I originally trained as a primary school teacher, although I have not taught since 2014. That year marked the beginning of my journey into the world of events, and in 2020 I discovered what I truly believe to be my vocation: becoming a celebrant. In a more ancestral language, I would describe myself as a priestess — a woman whose gift lies in empathy, presence and the power of words.

I am best known for the deeply emotional wedding ceremonies I create, but my work embraces every stage of life, from birth to death. Technically, my role is that of a ritual and ceremony guide and facilitator, accompanying people through the moments that shape their lives.

I have a deep love for people, poetry, music and the arts. Travelling has always been my greatest form of therapy, and I have had the privilege of living on three continents: Africa, Asia and Europe.

I love life, meaningful conversations, shared meals, and long walks in nature. I was married for fourteen years to the man who is still one of my closest friends. Today, I embrace the ongoing journey of discovering what it means to be a free and independent woman, surrounded by an extraordinary tribe of family and friends who walk beside me.

One of my greatest dreams is to one day create a ceremony where celebrants from many different faiths and spiritual traditions come together with a shared purpose, united by one common language: love.

Above all, I choose to live — and always will — with hope in humanity and in the one thing that connects us all: Love.
